Jerome Rothenberg is sinds the jaren '50 aktief als schrijver, performer en vertaler. Hij staat bekend als een adembenemend performer - veel van zijn werk dient gehoord te worden, niet gelezen. Zijn naam staat garant voor een kombinatie van scholastiek en eruditie met ongebreidelde humor en een nooit aflatende frisheid. Hij krijgt op deze voorstelling de assistentie van een ander ikoon in het performancegenre, Charlemagne Palestine.
