Als klein joch zag George Bagdasarov in Kazakstan tal van raketten de ruimte ingaan. Het waren beelden die de man, die zich later tot experimenteel saxofonist zou ontpoppen, altijd zijn bijgebleven. Voor deze voorstelling besloot hij a l'improviste ook een paar muzikale raketten te lanceren, en daarvoor bundelt hij de krachten met de Oekraïense technocellist Alexandr Vatagin.
>>> As a small boy in Kazakhstan, George Bagdasarov listened to the sound of rockets taking off into space. He never boarded any of those rockets – fortunately for us, since the Tetrahedron does not yet have space travel capabilities. Instead he travelled across Eurasia, journeying from psychodelic punk to conceptual techno to experimental saxophone. In this concert he joins forces with Ukrainian/Austrian techno-cellist Alexandr Vatagin. This autodidact musician was named by Austrian music magazine The Gap in 2009 as one of the country's most promising young artists.

Het is verrassend om te zien hoeveel muziek er in de loop der eeuwen aan onze gevederde en gevleugelde vrienden is opgedragen. Zoveel verbanden tussen muziek en vogelgezang, en in ons -orkest zoveel mogelijkheden om dat mee uit te beelden,... We lieten onze fantasie dan ook de vrije loop, en wensen met deze onversneden lentespecial onze geautomatiseerde vogels in te zetten in hommages aan Olivier Messiaen, William Byrd, Jean-Philippe Rameau en last but not least, een hele rist eigen produkties natuurlijk.

De Britse komponist en bandoneonist Caroline Wilkins (UK) laat zich inspireren door de Zaum-teksten van de Russische futurist Velimir Chlebnikov. Samen met programmeur Oded Ben-Tal (IL) verkent ze de taal der sterren, verbanden tussen stem en lichaam en de omkering van de relatie tussen performer en instrument.

>>> Zaum: Beyond Mind is a sound theatre piece by composer/performers Caroline Wilkins and Oded Ben-Tal. The work comprises voice, bandoneon, live interactive electronics, choreography, lighting and film. Coined by Russian poet Velimir Khlebnikov, zaum means beyond mind and describes experiments in sound symbolism and linguistic creation by the Russian Futurists. Zaum: Beyond Mind explores physical presence and absence, the ‘un-desiring’ bodies of voices-off, the animate / inanimate, and the reversal of performer / instrument relationships.
