Text+Sound+Art = TextSoundArt. Een simbiose die deze maand resulteert in vokale performances van Dominica Eyckmans, interaktieve drumsessies van Lazara Rosell Albear en Kristof Lauwers, Cage-vertolkingen door Marjolijn Zwakman en een speciaal voor het machineorkest gekomponeerd stuk van Andrian Pertout. Dat alles onder leiding van Godfried-Willem Raes en in samenwerking met Vzw Krikri.

Directed by Godfried-Willem Raes and in collaboration with Krikri vzw.

Maak eens kennis met MARIE (Monochord-Aerophone Robotic Instrument Ensemble), een ensemble van prille muziekrobots uit de Universiteit van Minnesota. Initiatiefnemers Troy Rogers, Steven Kemper en Scott Barton zijn al geruime tijd bezig met het transatlantische zusje van ons <M&M> Robotorkest en brengen deze maand met hun mechanische telgen een bezoek aan hun geestelijke ouders. Mmv. Ear Duo (Michael Strauss, saxofoons & Dana Jessen, fagot).

Een piano solo-recital was vooral ten tijde van de romantiek erg populair. Vandaag de dag heeft de 21ste-eeuwse pianist het echter moeilijker dan ooit om iets substantieel nieuws te brengen met slechts 88 toetsen als ekspressiemiddel. Van deze muzieksociologische problematiek is David Friend zich als geen ander bewust; dit aanstormend pianotalent uit Amerika kiest dan ook voor een radikale benadering van The Noble Art of Performing, en daar komt in zijn geval meer dan één gimmick en muzikale kwinkslag bij kijken.
